With some of his oldest songs given a face lift which is nice to hear. This collection of songs on CD2 has been thought about to give a wide variety of his 23 years producing fine songs. The Best Of David Gray (Deluxe Edition) (CD2) This is a really good album and deserves to be in your collection. I would estimate that they never grew up but I would also say the same of much older bands like The Rolling Stones and nobody knocks them for 60 years of ripped off blues.įavourite tracks for me are "Amputation", "All Things Pass", "Always Sad", "The Two Of Us", "Get On Home" & "Facing Up To The Facts" Full of attitude that defies their years. I came to this "Damage And Joy" with fresh ears and no bias as to what I expected nor wanted to hear. Some old fans love it for that because "if it ain't broke don't fix it" and I'm not one of those. Described as same old same old by early fans. I was spoiled for choice back in the 80's and never gave this band much of a chance. I say great to new ears as I never got on board the JAMC train when they were originally in the airwaves.
